I understand how deeply trauma can impact individuals, families, and communities. I recognize that many struggles we face in life, such as anxiety, depression, and addiction, often stem from early traumas. I also acknowledge that trauma is not just an individual experience but is intertwined with power dynamics and oppression on a systemic level.
I believe it is harmful to locate illness solely inside an individual’s mind when in reality it is too often the broken system that is the cause of their anguish. It is essential in the work of therapy to name and locate the oppressive structures and systems in order to heal from undignified harms and create meaningful and lasting change.
I believe that healing is a unique journey for each individual, and as such, I don’t have a one size fits all template. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and have internal wisdom about how best to heal yourself. I see us as equal partners in shaping the landscape of how we form the work together and strive to help you connect to your strengths and resources.
I believe that you have the inherent capacity for growth, change, and resilience. Rather than focusing solely on “the problem” I tend to focus on identifying your strengths, resources, and abilities, and will work with you to develop strategies that utilize your strength and resources to overcome life’s challenges.
I do not believe our minds exist in isolation from our bodies. My holistic approach to therapy acknowledges the intricate connection between our minds and bodies. By exploring both top-down and bottom-up processing, we can gain a comprehensive understanding of our mental and physical well-being.
I strive to create an environment where my clients feel comfortable and supported, but I also acknowledge that the process of therapy can be challenging and uncomfortable at times. I don’t believe that I have the right to assume any space is completely safe for another individual, but I do work to create a “safe enough” space for my clients to share their experiences and emotions.

Understanding and addressing these foundational patterns can help you respond to emotions and view yourself differently. By working on attachment, you can rewire early patterns, improving your relationship to yourself and others.
The stories we tell ourselves matter. We internalize meaning about who we are in relation to ourselves and others by what we tell ourselves. For example, if I tell myself I am terrible at writing, this little blurb will be difficult to write.

By focusing on body sensations, movements, and gestures, you can better understand your emotions and begin healing from relational wounds and generational legacies.
We often have an inner voice saying, “Do better” or “You’re not good enough.” While it seems motivating, it can leave us feeling ashamed and unmotivated. By cultivating a kinder inner response, we develop a more compassionate and accepting attitude towards ourselves. This doesn’t mean avoiding accountability but treating ourselves with the same kindness and understanding we offer friends and family, leading to a more positive self-image.
